Anatoly Smirnov

Anatoly Smirnov was born in 1954. He arrived in Zelenograd from the Kostroma area at the age of 17. After graduating from Moscow Institute of Electronics Technology he worked as an engineer in the Research Institute of Microdevices.

Visible leadership and managerial qualities led him to Zelenograd AULYCL district committee. A.N.Smirnov was chosen the secretary of the district committee, then transferred to Zelenograd CPSU district committee. At the age of 33 he was chosen the deputy chairman of Zelenograd City Council Executive.

From 1990 to 1998 he was at the head of  innovative bank "Technopolis"  that made a lot for small business support in Zelenograd.

In 1998 A.Smirnov was appointed  the first deputy prefect, and in January 2000 — the prefect of Zelenograd administrative district of Moscow.

He is a moderate optimist. He is ready to overcome difficulties, but hopes for the best. He is ambitious. In complicated situations relies on his intuition. Self-assured, however convinced, that the success can be reached only with teaming up.

He is married, has a daughter and two grandchildren. A sportsman, a founder of Zelenograd Soccer fan-club, the captain of a soccer team. Fond of mountain skiing, likes to drive a car. He believes that health and endurance are the official’s qualities of competency.
